Re: PC freezing after 10 minutes of playing since 4/16

Good morning,

Just adding to the group here for anyone having the same issue as I have seen a few. I have an AMD GPU (RX 7800 XT) and cannot play the game since the update dropped. Using latest AMD drivers when I try to launch BF6 the game compiles shaders, then once I am on the menu for a minute or two it crashes my entire PC. After restarting, my graphics drivers are completely corrupted and I must do a fresh install to fix.

This only happens on BF6, and seems to only happen with the latest AMD Driver.

I was just wondering if the team is aware of this, and working on a resolution?

Same issue. Only BF6 after the season 3 update. Most recent Adrenaline drivers. 7900XTX. Restarting PC does not resolve driver issues and I need to reinstall the drivers to get my GPU working properly.

Just to further comment here, rolled back my driver version to the release in March 2026 (the last version before current) and it works fine. So most definitely something to do with the latest AMD driver version for our GPUs gents.

I am sure it will not help others, because I read it didn't but so far, I have been able to actually finish matches. I downloaded DDU and the previous AMD driver 26.3.1. I used DDU in safe mode and removed everything in the AMD check boxes except the audio option. I then restarted and installed ONLY the driver; not adrenaline. Shaders took a bit to load as it compiled but I played a whole match in Golmud and no issues. I just started the game, and the shaders blew by in a breeze instead of the constant slow compiling I was getting when it was hard freezing all the time. My uneducated guess is that it is linked directly to the Adrenaline software? No issues this morning at all.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT (so no integrated graphics), MSI B550 Tomahawk Max WIFI, Corsair DDR4 16GB 1798 MHz, AMD Radeon RX 9070XT

I use a 7900XTX and a 9800X3D and use Adrenaline 26.5.1 all extra features shut off, I had a packet loss issue that I could resolve with enabling XMP in the bios maybe that fixes something for you too I have no issues.

Maybe also get the latest BIOS for your Motherboard and Chipset driver, you neverr know I keep all up to date and no issues

But in other, MORE demanding games, everything works smoothly. Are you absolutely sure it's the drivers? I rolled them back, but it didn't help.

I am having the same issues as the others have stated.

    I have a 7800x3d and 9070xt.

My crashes would corrupt the drivers and I would have to do a full reinstall.

I am on 26.2.1 and so far I have only had one crash but it didn't freeze my whole system and corrupt my drivers. It just crashed to desktop and I was able to get back into another game.

Oddly enough, I was having an issue with my system recognizing my TV as an audio out source but the older drivers seem to have fixed that.

I have 2 NVMEs in my comp which boot to either WIn 10 or Win 11.  Both were having crashing issues.  As a matter of fact, both have behaved differently depending on EAs updated software.  It seems every other update something else gets broken.

I had the micro stuttering issue almost all of season 2 only on the Win10 build. That was fixed with a Javelin update.

Then Win 11 was acting funky after the Win 10 was fixed.

    Now both are crashing.

Hello everyone, This isn't a driver issue. It's a problem with BF6, specifically EA Javelin Anticheat. I spent a whole week trying to figure this out. I cleaned the registry, deleted the GPU drivers, installed the drivers themselves, turned on and off the IGPU, and tried every possible solution on the forums, but nothing worked. I checked everything that was currently happening in Task Manager. For me, all I had to do was launch the game without doing anything, without going into the menu, and within three minutes, the screen froze, the computer shut down, and after a while, it restarted and deleted the graphics drivers. What's strange is that one Saturday, I played for about six hours without a problem, doing nothing. Then I had problems again and then I played without any problems until this weekend. Check your event manager for the messages you get before the freeze. I only have problems with BF6.

Does your event manager show the EA AntiCheat crashing?  Mine does not.

Run the Event Viewer, enter the filtered log, and select warnings and critical errors. It can show errors. Secure Boot CA/keys need to be updated. This device signature information is included here. DeviceAttributes: BaseBoardManufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.;FirmwareManufacturer: American Megatrends Inc.;FirmwareVersion: 3702;OEMModelBaseBoard: ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO;OEMManufacturerName: ASUS;OSArchitecture: amd64; BucketId: a9c2f2de7353f066790d0619634787c2fe8ec192006f6cbfc009365fc26598e0 BucketConfidenceLevel: UpdateType: 0 I have the latest BIOS and I was playing normally before. Today I looked in the BF6 minidump folder. There was something there, but unfortunately it didn't save before restarting. I've already tried deleting keys, restoring factory settings, etc. All I have to do is launch the game, I don't have to load shaders, and after 3 minutes I'm freezing.

Yes. I mean, I have looked through my Even Viewer and the EA AntiCheat is not crashing on my end.  I can see it load and unload sucessfully.

On  a side note updating my BIOS fixed the Secure Boot CA/Keys issue.  I had already checked in my powershell and confirmed that they 2023 keys were being used but It took the BIOS update for MS to recognize them.

Hello everyone, after a long struggle with PC restarts, freezes, GPU driver crashes, today BF6 finally worked. My hardware is Ryzen 7900, GPU 9070XT, Win 10, Asus 670E Hero motherboard. First of all, download whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.9.1-win10-win11-sep-rdna. Uninstall the drivers with DDU (restarting is necessary) and install the ones I mentioned, but ONLY clean drivers. I know, I still have the fps limit set to 100 in BF6. I've disabled any power saving features on my PC and updated all the necessary things. But I don't think it matters that this driver is the key, because after uninstalling the old one, I installed this one and everything works. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Don’t know if this will help anyone but in my digging I found a recommendation to make sure my IGPU was turned on in bios. I turned mine from auto to on and BF6 seems to be working for the most part. I had the same issues, fame blacking out after a couple minutes and crashing my PC. (Also found that if you go to device manager and toggle your GPU on and off it will reactivate the drivers/gpu and you won’t have to redownload them. It does occasional have stuttering that I did not have before. My specs are 7800X3D, aRx9070XT on a X670E. I’m currently running the most recent AMD drivers and adrenaline software. Of course as I’m typing this I see Amd has a new driver so maybe that will fix this issue.
