Unjustified ban on Battlefield 6 at launch — possible false positive?

Hello,

I’m reporting an unjustified ban on my EA account linked to Battlefield 6.

I bought and launched the game today via Steam. I played a few matches without any issue (around 4–5 games), then the game suddenly crashed with the message “Connection failed” (error code: 1:86001S:66003S:4688822970:0B).

When I restarted the game, I received this message:
“Your account has been deactivated. Activity on this account has violated EA’s User Agreement. We have permanently blocked access to this product.”

To clarify:
I do not use any third-party software, macros, or cheats.
I never spoke in chat or behaved in a toxic way.
I was playing Battlefield 2042 recently with no issues.
I received no prior warning before this ban.

This looks like a false positive from the anti-cheat system or a launch-day server-side issue.

I have already opened a support ticket with EA to appeal the decision, but I am posting here to see if other players are experiencing the same issue today. If you are, please reply so EA can see this might be a wider problem and not an isolated case.

Thanks in advance for looking into this.

There do seem to be a lot of peole being banned for no reason. It looks like it might be connected to using controllers with back paddles like scuff or Ellite. EA refuses to provide any info, there are quite a few people on this thread.

To everyone who can only respond with "you must have cheated, I've never been banned", that's what we all thought. I've played every BF game have a 16 year old EA account and am a 42 year old gamer dad who has no interest in cheating and just wanted to play with his son.

  • Same here, I’ve been banned for “gameplay improvement” too, even though I’ve never used cheats or any third-party software.

I only play with an official controller that has back paddles (Xbox Elite), so if that’s really what’s triggering the detection, that’s completely unfair.

I already appealed and the case was marked as “fixed”, but EA didn’t confirm whether I’m still banned or not.

Now I still can’t connect and get the same EA error code (1:86001S:66003S:4688822970:0B).

There really needs to be more transparency on this issue — too many players are getting banned for no valid reason.

  • I have been false perm banned aswell I got it for hateful conduct one message no prior suspension or ban / I appealed it to get a email back saying am cheating, I don’t know how to cheat nor ever cheating on Xbox before I got my pc in February I have been using this with secure boot on, which I thought prevents chests or being in cheaters games I have no been permanently banned under cheating/ I would accept a pc check off 1000 employees I’m lost for words this is my only account and I value it dearly now it’s gone due to battlefield Ai
