Audio muffled in Battlefield 6 RedSec — can’t hear enemy footsteps
I have found a possible issue in the Battlefield 6 RedSec audio mix. It seems there is a strong muffling effect, probably intended to simulate the player wearing a helmet or headset. However, this makes it very hard to hear enemy footsteps or understand sound direction.
The volume of our own character’s clothing and footsteps is too high compared to the environment, which covers enemy movement sounds. Also, the ambient storm noise is very loud even when far away, making it harder to sense what is happening around the player.
Because of this, it is often impossible to tell whether sounds come from above, below, left, or right, which hurts situational awareness.
I believe adjusting the audio filters, balancing ambient effects, and slightly reducing self-footstep volume would help fix this issue.
