Would be great if EA deploy BF4 servers in Latin America for console-based players. I know that EA almost doesn't’t care about their actual and potential clients here in the bottom of the world, but we are more than just a few players around here, and all of us suffer every day playing in the “worldwide servers” located in North America, because the lag is HUGE!! For instance, in BF3, sometimes the lag can be about 1 second compared a player located in the states, and that means that player will “see” you in the map one second before you can just notice that he was there, so at the time I see him, I was already dead. That is a very frustrating situation.
I know some people whom refuse to purchase any multilayer game which has no Latin America servers, because the fact of the lag… that is something that Einstein predicted long time before: nothing travels faster that the light. Some countries in LATAM, like Argentina and Chile has no less that 200ms of round trip time to Miami (the southest point in the states), so I can understand why those players refuse to purchase BF3 or BF4 for their consoles.
Come on guys!!! Deploying a server in Brazil of Argentina is not expensive at all!!! Latin America has very lower IT costs compared to other regions. I know that the potential market in LATAM is just a fraction compared with the market in other regions, but we are not just a bunch of players, I think you could be surprised about how many people would like to spend money and time playing games with descent performance.
I hope this message reach the eyes of someone with session power in EA. From my side, I will keep playing BF3 (and now BF4) no matters where the servers being located, but would be great to be able to convince my friends to start playing with me.

Hi there,
This is too early to say yet.
But I will forward this to DICE and we can only hope that they open more servers around the world. Keep in mind that it is a huge request and is not that super easy as you think.
But of course. Everyone around the world should be able to take part of the great gaming experience that Battlefield are giving us.

Timmie.

Thank you for your quick response Timmie. Do not worry, I’m aware that is not a simple thing installing a server farm to host on-line games… but c’mon! we are not trying to put a man in the moon!!!! 😕mileytongue: This is part of the EA business, I mean, you guys has a vast experience in the on-line multiplayer world, you can’t see us that is a huge effort for you to deploy new servers. I can accept that you say “it could take some time, but we can do it”.
Thank you again for your answer… please, keep us posted if you heard anything that could make us happy 😕mileyhappy:

Yes, of course.

- Anonymous11 years agoA year later and still no LatAm servers. And yet, Titan Fall, also from EA, has Brazilian servers.
- Anonymous12 years agoI'd like to endorse this request. BF4 has been officially launched in LatAm on all platforms, but only PCs have LatAm servers. PSN and LIVE are already in all main countries in LA, so it's more a matter of assuring that all players around the world can play the game as it is supposed to be played than technical-finance issue
