I tried a bunch of stuff based on this and other posts:
- 32bit mode
- low priority for the app
- limited fps to 60 with gametime command (this actually made it much worse)
- windowed & borderless modes
- no VOIP
For me, the only fix was to disable SLI. I have 2 680s, and without SLI it plays super-smooth most of the time, even with settings on Ultra (minus MSAA since I use FXAA). With SLI, the in-game FPS monitor would show good FPS, but it just wasn't panning smoothly. As soon as I disabled SLI, the same section of the game was much more enjoyable. I'm using Win7 64bit (SP1) with Punkbuster manually updated.
Here's hoping they'll fix SLI. My 2 570s ran BF3 silky smooth.
