It was a needed change in my opinion. High damage output weapons should have a higher degree of difficulty to use.
- Anonymous8 years agoYeah i noticed the aim assist problem to, makes the infantry rifles practically unuseable at close quarters. If you bumped into an assault with an smg sometimes with a quick finger u cud get a shot off before switching to pistol now since the update you cant get as involved in the action as a scout without getting killed. Ive got 13,300 kills with the Martini im no noob but changing the assist has ruined it for me. First it was nerfed & now this? Shame. I play PS4 & im rank 109 scout rank 50
- Anonymous8 years agoHello David, we can't compare mouse with Joysticks, fact. There's a lot of console players and Aim Assist is a compensation in this case. Like other people said many weapons become almost useless after the last "fix". Changing the mechanics after one year of game release will only put players away, specially the newcomers. We hope sincerely that you guys consider our point, thanks.
- Anonymous8 years agoFirst, I was pleased to have these new maps. They are cool. But after tried to do my first shot I was disappointed like hell like most of the players.
I was adapted all of the settings and my "muscle memory" which is the most important thing in the game.Martini Henry and all similar weapons are useless now.
They are saying that "Made improvements to the snap-to-target-on-zoom aim assist system to make it more subtle." this is nonsense. Thanks EA for ruining the game. I am not thinking to play BF1 untill they fix this issue.- 8 years ago
I agree. I don't know why DICE thought that changing the aim mechanics more than a year after release is a good idea. It just makes makes zero sense. After i've been playing this game for many hours everyday since release and have built the muscle memory to implicitly know how close to target I need to have my cross hairs before aiming and how does the aim speed change, now I have to start relearning all that stuff again?! * THAT! I've already sold my copy last night and went and bought another game that will keep me entertained. If am going to spend time learning new mechanics, then might as well get a new game.
- Anonymous8 years agoI have same problem me too,
I am using ps4
If not come back old aim asisst system, I will leave from bf1 ☹️ - Anonymous8 years ago
Hi there
I completely agree with the others on how the changes to the snap to target aim assist have messed up a lot of playstyles and guns on PS4. I know it was made to be more subtle, but in many games I find the Snap to target aim assist does not even work when you want it to, and when it does work it completley messes my aiming. For example I ambush several enemies at once and aim to kill a certain target within a congested area. however my aim with 'snap and stick' to a different player instead and ruin my ambush on them; which ends up getting me killed most of the time. I do not find this subtle at all...
This has also completely ruined the horseback play with the Rifle, as now it is extremely difficult to aim your gun as you will practically get no assistance from the aim assist and snap to target at all unless you are extremely close to the target; and even then the aim assist has difficulty tracking the enemy...
The Horse already sticks out like a sore thumb on the map and pretty much everyone will be shooting at you at first sight; so these changes really have had a huge negative impact on riders who combat enemies using the Rifle from horseback on PS4.
This is a massive disappointment to me as this was my favourite way to play Battlefield 1, which has now been completely nerfed to the point where using the Rifle on Horseback is redundant and is not enjoyable in the slightest.
If anything, I would have thought that the aiming assist would have been tweaked on PS4 as in the past (and even now after the changes) trying to shoot someone with a machine gun in the passenger seat of a tank has a really awkward slow down when near the target, which makes it very difficult for me to not overshoot my cursor on the target, or very slowly bring my reticle to the target in which point he has probably run into cover... It is not subtle at all and is really distracting.
I am really loving the new DLC content, but unfortunately the changes to the Snap to target aim assist has completely killed my enjoyment for the game. I really do hope that the Snap to target and aim assist reverts back to it's previous state, or at least very similar to it because as of now, these changes feel awkward and is not fun to play with at all.
These subtleties do not feel subtle at all on PS4, it is actually a very glaring change for me which has turned me off from enjoying the game as much as I used to and is even making me not play Battlefield 1 as much.
- Anonymous8 years agoSo happy to see that many people are expressing their thoughts about this negative step of game developers. Hope we have a solution soon!
- 8 years agoAim assist needs to be fixed. The game is not playable anymore. It’s like there’s no aim assist, not all of us are pro players not all of us can play with out aim assist. Fix this problem please
- 8 years agoI spend 993h in bf1(xbox). What’s happened hier. Operations feels like hardcore game. Aim assist is not existent. I have 5278 kills with SMLE.and now I can not hit anymore. I don’t now what the problem is, me or the aiming. I love bf but It's kind of depressing. I play with my community, I got the same points but 5:17 kd.i must make a break with bf1 and play bf4.
I had the same problem with springs update. And now Déjà-vu.- Anonymous8 years ago
I can't believe you're all bitching about this without taking more time to practice.
AA was way too OP. Of course you will need some time adapting to the new system. I turned Auto rotation off myself a few months ago (I use mostly infantry/carbine rifles) and yes it was a bit more difficult and yes I lost some CQC 1v1 against people still using it but after 2 weeks I was back on the same level again.
Also now, EVERYONE has this 'disadvantage' now for a bit so it's completely fair. Also, once you're used to this, you can be more satisfied with your kiills cause you made them yourself.
Just practice and it will be okay after some time.
- 8 years agoAnd before everyone had that advantage, its not like some people got it while others didn't.
And me and everyone else here were very happy with how the game was. I don't need to give myself a pat on the back and say "Atta boy" ever time i get a kill without AA. I game to have fun and kill a few hours, I get no satisfaction from killing without AA. I already get enough challenges at work and school to go through and feel satisfied with my life.
- Anonymous8 years agoThis change hurts the weaker players and makes the gulf in class to the “pro’s” even greater! Very disappointed, will hurt the game and make weaker players not want to play cos they cant even compete
