I really do believe that the changes to the Snap to target Aim assist was a terrible idea.
As others have said, many have been playing the game with how the mechanic worked from the start. For such a drastic change to the system, this has completely ruined playstyles for many people. Everyone had the advantages of the Snap to Target Aim Assist and even then, players with better aim I find will still play better than with someone whose aim is not on par for the most part.
Because of this, I find many players have found other ways to gain the advantage by playing smarter, such as playing with interesting flanking manouvres. This also encourages players to play as a team and a squad to try and ensure a better turn out in a battle.
So this change in my opinion has only benefitted those who have good aim and has screwed over the people who do not have the time or luxury to practice their aim on BF1 and just want to dive into a game after their other commitments in life and have fun without having to worry about geting stomped by all the 'Pro' players 'superior aim'.
What about those with certain disabilities who are not able to to have sufficient aim without the assist of the old Snap to Target Aim Assist.. This is definately a step back towards having the game accesible to everyone.
Many people have spent money on premium and to have such an important mechanic of the game to just drastically be nerfed to the point it is now, it is very unfair to those who enjoyed the game because of it.
For the players who are happy with the change and telling others to play other easier games, that is just rude and disrespectful to those who also supported BF1 with their money and feedback.Surely you do not want the playerbase to get smaller...
I am pretty sure DICE do not want their players to leave Battlefield 1 and play other games because of this change...
I really do hope re adjustments will be made to the Snap to Target Aim Assist. Preferably just reverting it back to the old one, because the new one version has turned players away from the game because they just weren't having fun with it anymore.
This really does screw up many playstyles that were made possible because of the old Snap to Target Aim Assist... For example, the style I really enjoyed (as mentioned in a previous post) was using the Rifle from Horseback.
It was a very viable way to play the horse pre patch; but is now extremely difficult to play and will most likely get you killed as you stick out like a sore thumb for everyone to shoot at as soon as you fire your first shot and give away your position.
Now the game encourages 1 style of horse play in my opinion... which is to pull out your Lance/Saber and scream at the top of your lungs as you charge into an enemy... which is what 95% of players already do XD (Only for them to go prone as soon as they see you..).
