Can you upload a video of this happening to you it will be easier for us to understand what it's happening when you are firing.

Also your not clicking on the keybind that you can switch from full auto to single fire?

    Yes, both examples should show exactly what it is that I am describing. Keep in mind that in all of these I am keeping the left mouse button clicked: that means I'm not taking my finger off the trigger.

    One of the videos is in a server that I frequent without problems, the other is from the first mission in Italian SP Campaign.

    I'm not pressing V (default and my current key for switching fire modes) either.

    I have tested this with all manner of automatic weapons in-game, and this persistently happens regardless as to map or weapon.

    Semi-auto weapons like sidearms and auto-loading rifles fire as quick as I pull the trigger so no issues there.
