I have the same problem. From Origin I hit start game, cloud sync bar goes, then im prompted to allow web helper. I hit yes (or no) and nothing happens. No battlelog page or game launch. If I log into battlelog manually, I can see the servers, but if I click to join one, it has the cloud sync bar go to 100% again, then web helper yes/no prompt again. I hit yes (or no) and it says joining game, but nothing happens... The origin page pops up from behind though as if I am supposed to do something else, but all I can do is hit "play Game" again and the same cloud sync bar goes and web helper yes/no prompt happens again, but no game start... I cant play BF4 at all!!!! This happens on IE (microsoft edge) or firefox 64. Same thing.
Windows 10, Nvidia 970.... always worked before. This update Jacked me

If you are trying to launch Battlelog and using a new browser doesn't help turn on plugin free launching under the Battlelog settings. I had to do this after the new BF1 UI came to BF4. It sounds like this is what you need to do in Battlelog from your description.
You also have the option of starting BF4 in Origin and trying to enter a server with the new BF1 interface which doesn't require the web helper application.
