Battlefield 1 Direct x 12 error with 3080 GPU, latest drivers.

Hi. I got Battlefield 1 from Steam sale a few weeks ago but every 20-30 min I get the error code.
I've done everything I could find online but nothing have helped me. Tried reinstalling both Steam, and origin. Nothing helps. I love this game but damn, every 20-30 min i need to get back to the game and que from a game for 5 min until I can get kicked again.

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-I Gaming
GPU: MSI 3080 gaming x trio @ MSRP
CPU: Inte i-i7 9700k
SSD's: Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB & Samsung EVO 970 M.2 1 TB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz

No overclocking on CPU or GPU.
Windows latest patch, same with GPU. Latest BIOS on CPU as well.

Tried to set Steam, Origin and the game exe files first to Admin, and then to regular. Nothing helps. Anyone know what's up? Is it because of the 3080 not having good drivers for BF1 or what is it?

Thanks

  • Turn it on after cuz its what auto installs drivers for new devices.

Something weird is going on. All the drivers I download and extract, won't do anything when I dubbelclick on the AsusSetup.exe files.

2 worked, Chipset and sata. VGA got error, rest did not do anything. Maybe the one's that did not do anything I aldready had?

  • That should be fine, the chipset is the main one to focus on anyway.
Try restarting your PC as the chipset driver usually requires restarting when installed and may need to restart for the repairs to apply.

Just wanted to confirm about the DDU; did you use DDU in safe mode and did you disable device installation settings in windows?

Ok! I'll try play again tomorrow, see if it works. Thanks again!
Yes, did it in safe mode. I did not disable device installation but I disabled my Ethernet in device manager before the DDU install, I followed a youtube video.

Interesting video! I'm going to try it again. Even Jay 2 cents failed, I don't even feel bad anymore lol.
But do I turn on the automatic installer after or is it unnecessary to have on?

Man I think it actually work now!!
This explains so much. I got a Rtx 3080 in September last year and since then all these small to big problems happened. I reinstalled my Windows several times but I had no idea I did the DDU install poorly. I did the DDU install just like a day ago but only but only by deactivating "Device installation settings" it all worked now.

Thank you so much for your help. I can't express how much I appreciate you taking the time to solved this for me.

Sum under  if anyone else finds this:

1: -Download DDU -Download latest Nvidia driver for GPU.
2: Hold left control and click on restart. *restarting*
    3: Advanced startup > safe mode (4)

4: In safe mode: Advanced system settings > system properties > Hardware > Device installation settings "Do you want to automatically download manufacturers' apps and custom icons available for your device?" [no (your device might not work as expected) " > save changes Still in safe mode install DDU.
5: PC restarts, now back in regular windows.
6: Installing my Nvidia driver from my download folder.
7: Installation complete, re activate "device installation settings"
