Battlefield 1 doesn't launch on Steam

I bought Battlefield 1 a few days ago, I never had it before and when I tried to launch it, the EA app just says "preparing game" and then it closes itself and the game does not open once. I tried updating the driver, reinstalling the game, the EA app, I updated the Microsoft VC, I ran the game in Windows 7 and 8 compact mode, I ran the game as administrator, I turned off my antivirus, I talked to support where they recommended the windows vc update but nothing. The game won't budge, I verified the integrity of game files, It seem just hopeless.

    It's funny to see this issue occuring every time there is a sale happening.

    So you don't need Steam to play Battlefield games the only thing required is the EA App.

    My recommendation is to refund it and purchase it on EA shop. There is a sale happening there right now as well.

    Also needing two clients to play a game that requires only one is silly and if for whatever reason Steam would be down you wouldn't be able to play BF 1 since I think it needs to have both clients open, just  like Ubisoft Connect works with Steam.

    As a general recommendation purchase games over the required client to avoid problems like these.
