The icons are there because you have low fps.
It could simply be because your CPU is slower than the minimum system requirements - you should however also check you are using the latest drivers, that you are using the R9 280X and not the built in graphics card, and that you are playing on low settings and resolution.
The drivers were up to date when i tried this ...

Have you also tried disabling the Origin In-Game Overlay in the Origin Launcher?
This has been known to cause a few issues as well, regarding low frames.

I turned this option since i downloaded Origin ( years ago ) ...
Still these icons there ☹️ Thank god i was in Trial Version because i was going to buy it
