Battlefield 1 Medic Mask glitch

I am trying to play Battlefield 1 as the Medic class and as soon as I spawn, my character immediately puts his mask on. I cannot take the mask off, making using that class unplayable. I have tried ...

Hey @Rex8202 there is a character specialization called Paranoia that makes it so you can't remove your gas mask, you probably have it on - Looks like a gas mask with a tiny lock and squiggles on the sides.

1) That was absolutely it and I feel really stupid for being irritated at this game for so long
2) what a terrible, debilitating perk to have on this game. How did I actually select it in the first place

  Lol it's more common than you think - usually happens when first unlocked.
  It works well with other perks that give flak bonuses when equipped but that's about it; I tend to ADS so I try my best to stay away
