battlefield 1 pc campaign mode loading freeze

I have had the game for several years.  Recently tried to play campaign mode again and completed the last part of Through Mud and Blood.  When trying to start Friends In High Places, the game is stuck on "Loading please wait" after the beginning cut scene.  Similarly, in Storm of Steel, after the cut scene, the game drops me into the battlefield, soldier moves around me, tank goes by, but I am unable to move.  Multiplayer seems to work okay.

I have tried clearing the game cashe, restarting, but have the same problem.  I have looked on this forum, but can't find my specific issue.  Additionally, while looking at my task manager at the time I am experiencing my issue, my "power usage" is VERY HIGH and  "memory usage" is 41%.  I have 18GB of RAM.   Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  Let me know what other information you may need.  Thank you.

@chris2tall is the game on SSD or HDD? When you cant move around do you discord overlay running and do you have a controller connected to the PC?

  • Hey, @chris2tall make sure that all drivers for windows are up to date, also worth to reinstall the GPU drivers for your PC.

You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Battlefield 1 and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

  • @EA_Atic, Thank you for your response.  I just tried your suggestions and did not have any luck.  I have attached my DXDiag file.  Please let me know if you have any further ideas.  Thank you.
