Battlefield 1 running poorly

I have this equipment:

Intel i5 6400 quadra core 2.7GHz

AMD R9 380

Win 10

16 GB RAM

Yet I get <60 FPS.

    Dear IluminateTheSky,

There is a "phenomenon" in Battlefield 1's system requirements. They are simply too exagerated. I have a CPU under the minimum but I have been able to play the game on ultra settings and get a 60 FPS and a little under.

On high settings I usually never get lag! I even tried the lowest possible settings and it still laged! It has never done it before. And lets not mension that the lowest system requerments still includes turning the options to Ultra and being able to play with decent FPS ratio.

However, thanks for the advice! Feel free to reply!

The minimum required specs are the bare minimum that the developer can guarantee that your PC will run the game for the life of the game.  When your PC doesn't meet minimum specs it may run the game for a while until a game or OS update comes a long and suddenly will no longer run the game due to added load requirements from the changes.

Things that may help you in this matter are disabling the origin in game overlay,  if you are using discord while playing disable the discord in game overlay, and ensure you are using DX11 instead of DX12 in Win10 for BF1.

  • Hey @Harasserdisaster,

Sorry to hear about this issue you're experiencing.

However, please check the minimum specs for Battlefield 1:

Battlefield 1 is a very CPU intensive game, and it will cause some issues if you don't have at least the minimum CPU.

Some things you can try that might help with FPS in the meantime:

    1. Turn off Origin in-Game Overlay in Origin and the Battlefield 1 Game Properties

    2. Check your frame rate limiter settings in-game in the Video/Graphics settings, and make sure it's set to 60, instead of Unlimited.

    3. Clean Boot:

Give these steps a try, and let us know if anything improves.

    Thanks 🙂
