Battlefield 1: Unable to use binoculars

I'm playing the Battlefield 1 campaign. In the story where you raid the village to find a part to repair Big Bess, I press Q to activate the binoculars but nothing happens. From my research, it appears to be a bug that goes back years.. is there a fix or workaround?

Thanks.

  • Hello @Greenjoyce3001,

It's a little weird. So what happens is when you pick up something different other than what you started with, it puts the binoculars down. Just go back to where you picked up your new item and your binoculars will be there. The fact that you can pick them up or put them down is beyond me.

Also, when you pick them up again, I don't think an icon or any writing shows up telling you that they are binoculars (can't remember exactly) so look closely for the actual binoculars.

    I truly hope this helps.

    Best regards,

  • Thanks, I appreciate the response. So it's only when I commence the story/mission to find the part for Big Bess that the game informs me about pressing Q for binoculars. And at the start of this mission, pressing Q does not do anything. So it sounds like I have to revert back to an earlier story where I first picked up a weapon and make sure I keep the binoculars as I progress. Nuts! 🙂
