Battlefield 1 Won't launch, tried multiple "fixes"

Hey all,

I bought BF1 2 days ago and installed it, today when i tried to play it, it wouldn't launch?

Here is the Dxdiag attached

I got a new GPU, from 670 to 1080, wondered what was up, tried lots of online "fixes" but nothing seemed to work

I have a i5 3570K overclocked I would assume it was good enough to play bf1 still considering I also have 16gb ram and a 1080?

I can still play battlefield 4

They are saved on alternate harddrives directory- ie not on my ssd

the graphics card seems to be working fine, I don't understand why it won't load

Its your i5. It is below minimum specs. Try lowering your graphics. If you can't get it to launch, try downloading Gforce Experience and change the graphics in there so that it will download. You can always delete it.

  • Is my CPU really not good enough then? Other friends that have lesser CPU's can still play it

Those minimum requirements seem off, i have a mate that has i5 2500 and can run the game(not the best but it runs)

When you say it wouldn't launch what are we talking here, error messages...blackscreen...or just absolutely nothing and just sits at desktop like you never clicked.

    Hey @Sabretoothl5,

Sorry to hear about this issue you're experiencing.

Here are a few steps that you can try:

    1. Make sure you have the Origin In-game Overlay turned off in Origin, and the Battlefield 1 Game Properties in Origin

    2. Manually Uninstall/Reinstall Origin:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/

    3. Clear Origin Cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

    4. Clean Boot:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

    5. Run Origin as Administrator, and the Battlefield 1 exe file in your Program Files as Administrator

Try these steps, and let us know if this worked out for you.

    Thank you 🙂

Thanks buddy, it was uninstalling and reinstalling origin that seemed to work!

Tried everything else too, but it only actually launched after that!

    Many thanks!
