Battlefield 2 "server has refused the connection"

I can't run BF2 anymore, every time I try to log in I get the message "The server has refused the connection", I have no idea who or how I'm supposed to contact about this, as it stands right now I h...

    Oh, I see multiplayer servers are dead.  I created an offline account and all is "well".... yay.

Register on http://battlelog.co/ under your old bf2 nickname

install the launcher and play.
