I have done a fresh 64 Bit Windows 8 install . Installed 2142 from disk. Tried installing 1.51 patch and it says "You already have a newer version installed"
I installed the 1.4 full patch then

So I tried starting the game with the 1.4 patch installed. run as administrator and Win XP SP3 compat.
Started it from the DVD Autorun. Start BF 2142. It says please insert the DVD-ROM and restart application.
Installed 1.4 patch, 1.4-1.5 patch and turned off compatibility mode and it worked!! Installed Northern Strike (not free in patch) and now installed patch 1.51 patch.and it works on window 8 64 bit.
