You should have been able to launch the campaign mode from Battlelog, the server issues are not related to the campaign. It should be the same as it was on Origin, you should use the EA app now.
If My connection is off, EA destop open the battlelog. But I can't access it since i'm offline. When utilising Origin back in the day, the game launched apart from the battlelog
