Battlefield 4 - LMG sound bug - Cant find fix anywhere

So i've had this sound bug every since I first started playing bf4 and I cant explain why it happens, it happens to most belt fed LMG's and a SINGLE pdw, the CBJ-MS.

The problem is, I start firing, hear the first 3 or 4 shots, then lose all sound of the actually bullets firing. I can hear the more ambient / background sounds of the gun but not the actual bullets.

Heres a video kinda showing the bug, it seemed to semi fix itself while I recorded this, but you can still tell how the sound just isn't right, towards the end of the video you can really see / hear the problem.

Please ignore the terrible graphics and frames 🙂

Hopefully someone has a idea of how to fix this, the only way I am able to correct the bug is with a suppressor.

Note: Higher RPM guns like the famas etc. work fine, it seems to only be LMGs and the cbj-ms

Thanks,

  • So, you don't mention what you have tried to fix this or mention any details about your computer so I'm just going to suggest the obvious things to try:

    • Repair the game in Origin
    • Update the drivers+software to your sound card
    • Reset the sound settings for the game
  • I have repaired and reinstalled the game, My drivers are all up to date, I have tried every combination of sound settings possible. I have a logitech G430 headset that comes with its own soundcard.

    I have an intel i7 3537U.

Graphics - Intergrated (yea yea I know, I still have a 1.05 kd and nearly 700 hours in the game though)

Intel graphics cards are not supported. I am not saying the game can't run because obviously in this case it can, but since it's not supported it can cause all kinds of bugs and I cannot rule out that this is one of them.

Have you tried running the automatic driver update detection tool on Intels website since you are sure you have the latest drivers?

You might also want to attach your dxdiag to this post:

  • Here is my Dxdiag infomation

And my drivers are indeed up to date, what I dont understand is how the only bug that I have ever come across using and intel chip is a sound bug specific to belt fed LMG's and a single PDW.

The whole dxdiag.txt file would have been preferred but from the few things mentioned in the screenshots things look fine.

The only thing I can think of besides the gfx support causing it is file corruption. Have you tried scanning your harddrive for errors?
