Hi, I just got Battlefield 4 and found out there are divisions in the game that divide players from Division 1 to 10. Does this mean that players will be matched with players of their skill levels and work their way up? Or is it just to show how you are stacked up in the world and has no effect in matchmaking?
Also, how could I check what divisions I am in?

Division ranking is mostly for show (i.e. division 1 assault, engineer, support, or recon) however when you join a server your skill division will be used to assign you to a team. For example if you join into a server it will say you have been assigned to Russian/Chinese/US team based on your skill this will ensure your not stuck on a team with only rank 1 players going up against rank 140 veterans instead each teem will have a fair mix of all the skill levels. So even if your just a beginner you can still end up in a lobby with some of the most skilled players online. To check your division go to leaderboards on battlelog.
