I am having this exact same issue as well.

8gbram
GTX 580
Win 7 64bit
331.65 drivers.
hard lock with sound loop. Need to quit process in task manager.
Updated .NET and DX for the heck of it and it's still crashing
Win8 Pro
Intel i7
8GB memory
Nvidia 745m
