I managed to successfully get a clean run of several games across 3 hours without a single crash. Here's all the latest things I did:
- Updated chipset drivers (find out what your motherboard is then look on Google)
- Did a windows update (start > programs > accessories > windows update)
- Went to NVIDIA control panel > Set PhysX Configuration > Select a PhysX Processor > Changed from Auto-Select to my video card.
- Set priority for BF3 to High in task manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL > Start task manager > Processes > Right-click BF4 > Set priority > high
Now I'm not sure which of these fixed it or if I just got lucky, but that was the longest I've been able to play without the game crashing.
Good luck. The game is great when it's not bombing out on you.
