Every single workaround has been pu to the test including reverting to beta drivers, lowering audio and graphics settings, repair install, uninstalling and reinstalling Bugfield 4 and Punkbuster, borderless or fullscreen or windowed and whatever else is out there, nothing works. I even updated my Windows to 8.1. It is UNPLAYABLE. Either game disconnected, audio+freeze, Directx Error or simply Bugfield 4 has stopped working.
From launch till now, I only managed to play SP (switching back and forth the workarounds because it was DirectX Error all over the shop) and one round of multiplayer (which I didn't complete and crashed out ) and whenever I try to play again (here's hoping it might work)- BAM! Error again. I only managed a cynical smile and a small laugh out of exasperation and disappointment. Those of you who are among those who are lucky to play, might say I'm whining. But coming from the first BF game till BF3, I have always been a fan of the series and I always enjoyed this game- it's just that sheer disappointment and frustration that comes rolling like wrecking ball with this latest instalment. It almost seems like it was meant to be so glitchy to promote consoles where you just shove in the disk and it works. However, I hear it is crashing on consoles also...lolI had two differnet types of crashing going on. I fixed one then the other one started. I think running as administrator and allowing full access to the origin games folder finally did it. It also seems to run a little more stabily if i set the graphics to medium and put up with 52 FPS, vice 60, the way I was able to dial it in before.
I had to use the compatibility wizard to set it to run that way... not sure if there is an easier way.
(running WIN7 64 bit)
Seems like everything battlelog is glitch too. I'll go to your site and look at my stats click on unlocks etc, and my mouse / browser freezes up. I close it and go elsewhere and no problems.. This is all EA / DICE issues..
