I can confirm I am still getting the same crash I got when I first played the game even after the dec 3 patch. The game freezes and the sound loops. I have to alt+tab and go into task manager to shut down the game. Sometimes this doesnt completely kill the b4.exe proccess and I am unable to get back into the game. Battlelog keeps telling some kind of error message saying that the game is still running. Sometimes a restart will fix it and sometimes it wont. I had an instance in which even if I restarted the computer, somehow bf4.exe was still running (sounds crazy but its true). I actually had to boot in safemode and move the bf4.exe file locatication temporarily (following suggestion online) in order to stop the process from booting with windows.
The worst part about all of this is that I loved playing Shanghai in the beta. It is still my favorite map and its the one that crashes the game the most. I never had this kind of crash during the beta.
Either way, for those suffering out there, I've tried every fix possible with no success. Resintalling punk buster, reinstalling direct x, win 7 and 8, 8.1, installing old/new drivers. Even the latest Nvidia beta drivers .92. Absolutely no success. The only thing that has worked for me has been to just play the game in the lowest graphic settings possible. I've been able to play at least 4 or 5 games straight without crashing. Sadly though, the game looks like crap.
Finally, EA, you freaking suck terribly. I was one of the idiots that thought Simcity had a lot of potential and ended up suffering through the whole thing to the point I stopped playing it altogether. To have to go through this again with Battlefield 4 is just unnaceptable. Absolutely worst company in existance. And you will continue to be for years to come. Stop pushing developers to release unfinished products!
