Battlefield 4 keeps crashing on PC

Same problem with my GTX 580M....

Please advice on what to do

This is soooo bad on there dam part omF!!!!!I hate playing for nothing u pay so gosh damn much just to have a game crash on u!!!!!WTF and if it was a problem in the premuim branch it would be fixed by now PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FINISH YOUR BETA AND GIVE US THE RIGHT PATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O im running 2*gtx 560 ti and this problem ocurs more and more now i cant even finish one damn game probally lost out on 5 levels now!!!!FIX FIx FIX FIX FIX FIX!!!!!!!

Have you tried running as little as possible on your computer while playing? I stopped almost all processes and started the game, it runs just fine now. After looking a bit deeper into it, it seems that game overlays, such as steam and xfire is causing the problem for me. Hope that helps 😉

To fix the crashes, use custom preset and put the texture quality to Low and Anti-Aliasing (Post) off atm. Haven't tried Ultra settings but wouldn't recommend it. Many crashes exists, and this is how you can solve most of them...

I would also recommend to put GameTime.MaxVariableFps 61 in your user.cfg (install folder -- just create one), to stall the crashes from happening as they are fps based...

This is crazy, I paid so much for this and its been nothing but a headache since I installed it. I have a brand new Alienware PC and it has enough to handle this and then some. Every time I play online its stops working..grrrrr.. I've lost so much XP, not to mentioned I've had to reach each promotion 3-4 times, its soooo frustrating. In what field today other than gaming could you release something half built and say here you go, now give us the money. It's an awesome game I"ll say that, but awesomely unfinished and untested before it should have been released. I have BF2 and 3 so I'm pretty loyal fan, but this is just absolutely stupid.

My five cents, which at the moment feels about right for the playing value I've got so far.

Do you get the lagging/rubberbanding effect too along with those server crashes, I am not sure what is going on. I have a AMD 6850 overclock  1GB  and I5 2500k.

Where is the gametime.maxvariablefps61 file at?
