Battlefield 4 low FPS when aiming down sights

Whenever I try to aim down a scope/sight my FPS drop incredibly low, it's very annoying honestly. I tried turning on and off VSYNCH, aswell as Weapon Depth of Field, which however didn't fix the issue. My PC has a RTX 2070 Super, i7 10th gen and 32 GB Ram so I really can't see what's causing the issue.

  • Hi @EktoHunter ,

Is the FPS drop the same no matter the scope you have on your weapon?

Aka pick a sniper rifle like the CS-LR4 and load it out with just the default iron sight.

Does that then show the same FPS drop as you have when you use the same sniper rifle with the 20x Hunter scope?

  • Hey @CyberDyme
It does seem to cause FPS drops with both the iron sight and the 6x scope.

This is also very noticeable with the USAS-12, however idk if you can turn on iron sights on that one.

Hi @IIPrest0nII, thanks for your reply.

I think that that might actually be the fix, however I'm confused as to what they mean by "Disable all extra options for enhanced graphics and set the preferences for AA and anisotropic to “use application settings”." What of this would that be?

In Nvidia GeForce Experience hover over Battlefield 4 icon and click Details. In Details section below you should see your optimised graphics settings that GeForce Experience set for you. In this window click custom settings icon and set slider to left at performance value.

    See my screenshot below.

Don't forget to click Apply button and save your settings. After that, please check the game.
