Since this is a Publisher choice issue and to be honest i believe it's to keep console centric players buying copies on their consoles (higher revenue). I refuse to buy any more games with EA on the box until they realise this is 2013 not 1989. Look how dated this scheme seems with open source Steam boxes just around the corner?!
Vote with your wallets folks, it's the only way these corporations will listen.
It's clear how strangled the developers are on this matter, of course they can map key bindings and settings from the console builds. They're just told not to.
I too would really like better xbox 360 controller support.

Some people seem to think that there is just too much going on to use a game pad, to them I ask if there is too much going on how do you play on a consol? I use a game pad and have seen some really nice game pad schemes, I especially like the one in Thief and don't see why EA/Dice and others don't incorporate game pad options nativally, it seems to me that they are just lazy.
