Battlefield 4 "origin is not installed [PC]

Thought I'd play some BF as I haven't done in a while. One of my favorite FPS games after all. Then this poo shows up, it's just ridiculous on so many levels that EA asks us to do all this * just to get the game to work. It's plain catastrophic really. If only these games would work on Steam.
I'm not going to play BF4 as it is. I refuse to go through all these steps JUST TO PLAY THE FRIGGIN GAME. It's cute that Origin tries to compete with Steam, but they are light years behind them. This money grabbing, * and non finished games policy EA is providing us is probably going to be their doom in the end. Seriously EA, get a grip
