Battlefield Companion app: Unable to disable/customize notifications

I have the Battlefield Companion app for Android.

It uses notifications to inform me of game updates (BF1).

My problems with this are:

  1. I'm not able to disable these notifications. (I follow the news on Battlefield and am perfectly aware that a new update has released. Usually the update has released and I've applied the update in Origin before the app notifies me, so these notifications are useless and annoying.)
  2. The notification uses the same sound as received SMS messages, and can't be changed. This is super-annoying, since I think I've received an SMS, only to find out it's actually Battlefield Companion app annoying me with useless notifications.

With these kinds of problems, and having no real use for me (after signing up for the CTE), I don't even know why I should keep the Companion app installed. Having thought that, I'm going to uninstall. EA should correct these problems if they want less people to do the same.

  • In that case, please do this: Go to settings -> apps -> battlefield companion, in the "top box", by the force quit button, should be a tiny box that says "show notifications". Untick it and they should stop

  • Hello @Silvar55,

if you are on android 5.0 or higher, you can block them. When the next notifcation comes up, long-press it and you will see 3  options, press "Block all notifications" and confirm it and from now on, the app wont send you notifications anymore, thats how i did it at least.

    But I'm on Android 4.4... :-(

If an app has notifications, the minimum should be that you can disable them. Bonus would be to customize whether there is sound for the notification, what sound is used, and what kinds of things trigger a notification.

Thank you. Although I've now uninstalled the Companion app (as I said in my OP), this tip may come in handy later for other apps! :-)
