10 years agoBattlelog Help
My battlelog won't load the servers or anything and the icon on my desktop doesn't work either. When I click play bf4 in origin it takes me to the battlelog website and says log in or buy the game an...
I tried to repair it after putting the BF4 folder on my desktop, but it says "The game installation directory is invalid. Please select a different directory."
I just tried it on my own game rig before I posted to see if I could make the error you got but no error at all:womanfrustrated: The BF folder in my documents would not be made again until you join a server but the error you have ... The game installation directory is invalid. Please select a different directory.... has be worried I will look it up to see if I can find a way to avoid you doing a clean install of BF4. And you post back on the stuff below if it was done :womanhappy:
Let me ask you this just so we cover it all and not doing things you do not need. Did you do all this for settings and keep them in place? And is Origin and BF4 installed on the same hard drive or SSD?
Run the game as Administrator:
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x64)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and check the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Do the same with BF4_x86.exe as well.
Run Origin as Administrator:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility tab and check the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.
Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game
Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
Origin, settings, General
Make Sure BF4 is set to 64bit if your windows is 64bit
1- open origin and go to My Games
2-Right click BF4 and go to Game Properties
3-Under when launching this game set it to x64 and check off disable origin in game.
4- Hit apply REBOOT your PC and then test your BF4
And have you done this as well?
Another thing to try is re- install origin only not your game just origin. EDIT... If you DO NOT have origin and BF4 on same drive you need to fix this as this could be why you get this error. And it it less work to move origin then do a reinstall of BF4
1. Uninstall Origin completely from Windows Control Panel.
2. Reboot your PC. This is important to clear out any lingering registry files or directories.
3. Download the latest here: http://origin.com/download
4. Install Origin You should not be prompted to update.
Yes they are both on my hard drive. I unistalled origin. Rebooted and installed it again I ran it as an administator and it still says the same thing when I try to fix BF4. BF4 is set to 64 bit as well as my operating system. I cannot reach battlelog from the two shortcuts on my desktop. One being BF4 x64 and the other being BF4
I did more homework on this issue and did talk to a friend who had this error in the past...
Make sure you have no BF4 folder in C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents before you start all this
