10 years agoBattlelog Help
My battlelog won't load the servers or anything and the icon on my desktop doesn't work either. When I click play bf4 in origin it takes me to the battlelog website and says log in or buy the game an...
Yes they are both on my hard drive. I unistalled origin. Rebooted and installed it again I ran it as an administator and it still says the same thing when I try to fix BF4. BF4 is set to 64 bit as well as my operating system. I cannot reach battlelog from the two shortcuts on my desktop. One being BF4 x64 and the other being BF4
I did more homework on this issue and did talk to a friend who had this error in the past...
Make sure you have no BF4 folder in C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents before you start all this
Go download the free version of CC cleaner..
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Install CC Cleaner
Now use it to clean the registry, reboot PC and check the registry one last time for any issues. If it finds any repeat steps until it finds none.
Reboot PC try and run repair game again.
If it still fails to fix it use CC cleaner to uninstall Origin and BF4 and Reboot PC
Then clean the registry again with CC cleaner Reboot PC and check the registry one last time for any issues. If it finds any repeat steps until it finds none.
Now install new version of Origin Download the latest here: http://origin.com/download
Reboot PC and install BF4 and fingers crossed this should fix it for you.
I follwed the steps and It says the the game directory is invalid again when I try to download BF4 again
I had that issue as well, you need to change the origin game download path. Make a folder in your C: drive and change the game install directory to that folder.
This is what it looks like in origin settnings: http://i.stack.imgur.com/GsthR.png (Not my picture)
Okay so I made two folders in my (C) drive one being Origin Install and one being Origin Download. Then I went to Settongs>Advanved then I changed where the games will be installed to C:Origin Download/ then below it says game installers. I changed that to C:/Origin Install/cache. Now BF4 has started to download. Have I done it right?
On my game PC I have both set to my F drive and windows is on C drive and I don't get this error. So maybe this is the issue apexstingray58 make sure both are set to the same drive again. Thanks for the input Vargen0394029 as I think I know what it may be now.
Vargen0394029 when I set up my BF4 this way I had to make the folders on my F drive to make this work correct. The two folders I had to make was Program Files (x86 and ProgramData see if this is the issue as I can see why it would give this error without the folders made on your other drive your trying to install on.
F:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games
F:\ProgramData\Origin\DownloadCache\cache
so what should I do how do I change from C to F? then what?
So what you do is install origin on the drive you want your games on.
then on said drive check and see if it made the folder it should make this one ....Program Files (x86) then make another folder called ... ProgramData. So all you should see when you open the drive is 2 folders ...
Program Files (x86)
ProgramData
Now open origin and top left click on origin and pick Application Settings, then on new page go down to Advanced and make sure both are set to the hard drive origin is installed on. If they are not hit Change and direct it to the 2 folders on the dive you want it all installed on.
i have the two folders on (C) hard drive I have program files but not program files x86 or program data it wont let me make a program files x86
how could I like send you a picture of what is happening
If your installing it all on C drive then you do not need to make the folders as it is the windows drive and it has the folders.,
Edit ... sorry to put up a picture when posting it has a area at the top next to insert link
I have program files but not the x86 one in my C drive and I have program data as well but nothing is in program data
Ok this could be why we keep going in circles so try this...BTW what windows are you on ?
Test your windows for errors as a clean windows install does not always make a stable windows.
NOTE: Running SFC does not guarantee the crash will not happen, but it will ensure it is not because a windows Dll or file is corrupted in windows.
This works in all windows O/S vista Win7, Win8 and Win8.1 windows system file checker :] Copy and past this to note pad and put it on your desktop. As open programs can give you errors when you run this.
sfc /scannow, ever hear of it if not your going to love this, it will inspect all the important windows files as well as the windows DLL files. If windows system file checker finds any issues with the windows files and windows DLL files it will replace them / try to fix them. This little tool as well as the event viewer on a PC saved me and fully helped me fix my BF4 issues as well as saved me many a format since I found it. This is the best toy they ever put in windows :womanvery-happy:
-For win7 go to start/ bottom left screen / windows globe .. Right click in search type cmd and right click cmd pick run as administrator.
-For win 8.1 right mouse click start bottom left of screen / windows box and pick command prompt administrator.
1-Open administrator command prompt and close web pages and programs like Origin, Steam etc.
2-Type or copy and paste in sfc /scannow and hit enter, This takes 5 min to 15 min SSD vs HD
3-This can go one of a few ways ..... no errors ... it fixed some errors ..... could not fix all errors...... does not finish checking and errors out ....... and the last one could not fix errors at all :/
4-After its done REBOOT PC and Run sfc /scannow again even if you had no errors the first time or had errors, could not fix run sfc /scannow again and when its done a second time reboot. You need to do this a and get no errors 2 x in a row ...
5-So if you ran it 2x and no errors your safe you can stop. If you had errors first time but not the second then run sfc /scannow again and when its done reboot. You need to get could not find any errors 2 x to be safe. If it still finds errors try and run it a few more times until it finds no errors 2x AND ALWAYS REBOOT BETWEEN RUNNING sfc /scannow
6-If you get a message indicating that it can not be repaired and you ran sfc /scannow more then 3x in a row on win vista or 7 mm you need a format or try repair win 7 :/ But after format or repair and all updates are done run sfc /scannow to make sure your windows is stable same deal 2x error free reboot between them.
NOTE-If your O/S is Win8 or Win 8,1 then you can run the next few command lines in administrator command prompt. Sadly this does not work for win vista or 7 :/ Note: After you run each command line Reboot PC.
This next part of windows scans is only for windows 8 & windows 8.1
Reboot PC after you run each command line and close programs and web pages.
And same deal as above run command prompt administrator.
1-This command line will scan the health of your PC:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
2-This command line will restore the health of your PC and you don't lose anything on your PC :
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Note: If you get errors with the two command lines above and it cant be fixed with second command line and if you are on windows 8.1. Then use third command line but be warned it could take up to two hrs to fix your PC but it will save you a format. I had a friend test this on a PC with errors when it could not be fixed with second command line. :womanvery-happy:
This next part of windows scans is only for windows 8.1 : Credit goes to CptBigoso for finding this..
And same deal as above run command prompt administrator.
1-If restore heath gave you errors then you can always try this command line:
dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
2-If you get Error 0x800F081F with the restore health scan then run this command line. After you reboot your PC then run third command line to be sure your windows is fully stable.
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
Im in windows home premium and when I do the sfc /scannow thing it imediatly crashes
Are you on windows 7 or windows 8 or windows8.1 ?
7
Cool ok so with sfc /scannow crashing your pc try this... Make sure origin, web pages etc are closed no open programs and try to run it again. If it crashes again then pull out your Windows 7 cd and try to repair windows. If this fails then format your PC to fix this. When you have windows fixed post back and I will help you more not a issue.:womanvery-happy:
How do I take out my Windows CD sorry im a noob
Your not a noob everyone starts someplace and a good PC issue helps one learn about PC's :womanhappy: This is how I learned over the years :womantongue:
Ok before you start watch some videos as many videos as you can watch and learn... Watch videos on all this so you have more of a idea what your doing / need to do....Also note if you have to go down the road of a format then once windows is set up you will need to install the drivers for your motherboard and do windows updates. As well as install all programs again and yes it is alot of work. So just to get you started ....

Well the fact you do not have a program files x86 folder on your C drive is a big red flag you need to fix windows. So this is why everything else is acting up, computers that come preinstalled with Windows 7 often have what is called a recovery partition. Are you 100% sure you do not have a program files x86 folder on your C drive? The fact you cant run sfc /scannow says either you did not run it as Admin and or had programs open or windows is fully mucked up and needs to be fixed.
Can you post your PC specs and who makes your PC for me as this would help me help you. :womanwink: Also have you ever been able to play BF4 on this PC if not it is either due to one of two things.... one windows is just mucked up and needs to be fixed or your PC does not meet the system requirements to play BF4. Either way the first step in all this is we get your windows fixed.

Is your copy of windows even a legal one? If it is not this could be very well why this is all acting so wacked out. If it is not a legal copy of windows I would strongly suggest yo go by a OEM of win7 or windows 8.1 and fix your windows. No way I can help you fix BF4 until your windows is stable and due to the fact you cant run the windows scan this tells me your windows in not stable sorry.
I have a legit windows. I have a product key
my cousin tried fixing it but I think he deleted the program files
You either have to try to repair windows or format I think it will have to be a format due to less chance of errors. I am shocked your PC still boots up without the files but who knows what he removed.
Can you still burn a CD? And thank goodness your copy is legal and you still have a key. As you cant find your windows 7 CD then you need to go down this road and like always read it fully and do your homework on this before you start...
