BF1 bayonet charge didn't register

Product: Battlefield 1
Platform:PC
Summarize your bug I was bayonet (running) at a guy operating a mortar. As I as about to stab him, he disengaged from his mortar. This made my character run past him (we made contact though) without doing anything. Only happened once because that's not a scenario that happens very often, but I'm assuming it'll happen every time.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? As described above. I also have a clip of it.
What happens when the bug occurs? Bayoneting player runs past the target, though contact was obviously made. Either that, or going out of the combat area made my character disengage from the rush. I don't know.
Please select your region North America
In what game mode did the bug occur? Rush

That was really close, but how it looks like was he jumping to the right side.(probably just a bit confusing because he got out of his Mortar animation)
Also happend to me sometimes in other situations, as i thought i catched him for sure...but nope.

    Greets,
    Travis

( Please Leave XP and accept it as Solution if it helped you) Thanks

Yeah, it's mostly related to the jump. In Battlefield 1 it is impossible to get a succesful bayonet charge on someone who is jumping. Probably either an oversight or a game-related limitation present in order to avoid buggy melee animations.
