BF1 Direct X Fuction Error

Currently getting a multitude of errors with DirectX and Direct3D Error This is the most common out of them all... I seemed to resolve one of my issues by doing a clean install of the drivers for my GPU. Currently sitting at Nvidia Drivers 373.06. I have two 980Ms in SLI and I disabled SLI and was able to play through almost a single mission without it crashing. I've made it back into game multiple times but they always end with this error and quite frankly I've already done enough footwork for DICE and EA and I want my money's worth of customer service now.

I've reduced the memory clock on my GPUs to -50 to try and solve the issue.
I've tried running in all configurations of Vsync on/off, fullscreen and windowed, 60 and 120fps.
Sometimes the error occurs before the menu even shows up, other times I'm halfway through a mission.
I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit I have an i7 4940MX CPU @3.1Ghz
I've tried running as administrator.
I've tried updating windows completely
I've tried running dxdiag and making sure all C++ are completely updated
I've tried searching on the forums for other people who have found a solution and not a single thing has worked for me.
I cannot test this on my PC to see if it works and am currently using a laptop.

Quite frankly, with beta over and the trial out for everyone, and the release of the game slated for tomorrow. It's quite disheartening to see the amount of issues that people are going through, as well as my own issue when I simply wanted to click install and play with some friends.

I had the same issue but i fixed it after few steps.

    1. I reisntalled/repaired the redist file. You can find it in PROGRAM FILES (x86)>Origin Games>Battlefield1>_Installer>vc>vc2012Update3>redist>vcredist_x64
      1. You have to reinstall/repair both PROGRAM FILES (x86)>Origin Games>Battlefield1>_Installer>vc>vc2013>redist>vcredist_x64
      2. After the repair reboot your pc
    2. Next step: go to "my documents" >Battlefield1 and delete the Battlefield1 Folder.
    3. Launch the game. Do not press anything especially ALT+ENTER. Let the game run as default.
    4. Ingame: Options>Video>Advanced(right corner)>DX12 Turn it off

I hope it will help you.

    ENJOY!

Yes and when you actually restart your PC or turn it on next day, then DX error will show again. Guess what, nothing solves this, this needs urgent fixing from DICE.

  • I too am also getting driect X error....and its pissing me off because i would be on the final round and almost close to winning and I lose all progress cause game crashes!

error: DirectX Function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. GPU: "Nvidia GeForce GTX 680"

I even set it to the lowest setting and driver is up to date!!!!
