BF1 Lost Connection to the EA Servers Error
I keep getting the "You have lost connection to the EA servers" error every time I try to launch BF1 from Origin on PC. Each time I start the game, it acts as if it's my first time playing and starts the tutorial campaign mission. When I'm in the menu, it gives me the lost connection error and won't connect when I click 'go online'. The error started showing up after I bought the Premium Pass on Wednesday. It wouldn't work after repairing the game and checking for updates. I then changed my EA password and that seemed to fix it. Played for a few hours that night with no issues. I go to load up the game yesterday and the error was back. I tried changing my password again several times, but it didn't work. Besides changing my password I've tried:
- Repairing the game/verifying files (running Origin normally and as administrator)
- Opening all the recommended ports from the EA connection troubleshooting guide
- Switching my DNS
- Reinstalling the game
- Reinstalling Origin
This issue also comes up when I try to launch BF4 through Origin, but not when I launch it through Battlelog. I downloaded Apex Legends to test if it was just an issue with BF, and it seems to work fine. At this point, I'm well and truly confused as to what the issue would be. I've read the other forum posts that have had this issue and there seems to be a different fix every time. It feels like an issue with my account, but I don't know why BF would be the only game having issues.
I just spoke with an EA Advisor about this issue and we were able to fix it by allowing the BF1 and Origin apps through Controlled folder access in the Windows Security Ransomware protection. If you go to Windows Security > Ransomware Protection > allow an app through Controlled folder access, and then add origin.exe, bf1.exe, and bf1Trial.exe, the issue should be fixed.
