BF1 on XB1 Missing Multiplayer Privileges

Purchased the Early Enlister Deluxe edition of the game as well as BF1 premium. It appears as if all my codes worked when I used them. However, I only seem to have access to the campaign mode. When I attempt to play multiplayer, access battle packs, or use the "solider" tab, I get an error telling me that I am "Missing Multiplayer Privileges" and to access an EA help link that, when I type it in, EA says does not exist. Has anyone else had this issue and how do I resolve it?

  • Hi all, we're looking into this. For those affected by this, have you been able to play at all, or were you always affected by this?

For most users affected by this, please double check that you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

If you have this and the issue manifests, restarting your system or disconnecting and reconnecting can help. Hold the front button on the front of your system for a few seconds until it beeps and shuts down, in order to perform the reset.

    Thank you for the info.

    Hey @munchster75

If you're missing Multiplayer Privileges it's likely either you

    A) Don't have an Xbox Live Gold membership on the Gamertag you're playing on

    B) You share the Xbox Live Gold membership on your console but your Xbox Gamertag is added to the list of approved Gamertags to share it with.

    C) You'll just need to do a quick reboot of the console. This is what I recommend:

    1. Power cycle the console: http://bit.ly/XB1_PowerCycle

    2. Clear the MAC Address: From the Xbox dashboard select Settings>All Settings>Network>Network Settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, then restart your Xbox.

Yeah I have this same problem. I just renewed xbox Live and it worked 10 to 20 mind after doing.

  • This is going to sound stupid but it’s what worked for me I restarted my Xbox didn’t work so I just kept restarting the game until I got the little press right trigger to go online thing in the bottom right of the screen took about five times I know it’s dumb but it worked for me hope it helps

    @y21ifg3nunji

This message can sometimes pop up in error and a power cycle can help fix it. Be sure to check if there is a brief Xbox Live outage.

You'll need to go on your Xbox to make sure you either have an active Xbox Live Gold membership or the account has made it so your Gamertag is allowed to share it.

6 years later and yes this is still an issue.

    1. yes I have Xbox live

    2. Yes my gamer tag is connected to my origin account

    3. No, I do not have ANY restrictions on my xbox

    4. and yes I have restarted my Xbox a million times.

do you have any other ideas or do you want to keep saying the same thing?

    Hey, @gideonmorris5

This post was originally created in 2016, so I will be closing it down. This is an Xbox error message and the last response prior to yours was back in 2019, therefore it is likely account specific what you're experiencing rather than a widespread issue. I'd double-check your privacy settings on the console to see if they were switched. If they are on child it's possible that's why you can't gain access. If you are having the game shared to you, that could be the reason why too.

If you still need help please create a new post and feel free to reference this one in the thread.
