because that is unfortunate how business was made for this game.
back then all the big games out there. did Season Pass or Premium Pass.
for get new maps / mods / guns, and so on.
and why it was free in 2018. was because for advertising.
for get ready on Battlefield V.
just wait on a sale for Premium Pass. last week it was 75% off.
and with the next Battlefield game, on the way.
we will probably see more sales again. my guess before EAPlay 2021, in June.
I will be honest, this is the first time I'm seeing a map being premium only. It doesn't make any sense. You could include anything into premium but why maps?
Other than that, yeah I bought the game when it was on sale. But we didn't start playing right away. Had I known maps were included in premium pass, I'd have bought the full version of the game.
premium pass has been a thing for years. it began with Battlefield Heroes.
and premium maps, are one way to make people buy the premium pass .
for in the old days.
most people did not care for, new weapon / skins / game mods.
only maps and maps. and people could just buy what dlc they want.
and the BF1 Premium Pass, did not sell well. or that what rumors says.
so premium only maps. was one way to make people buy the premium pass
before all the big things with battle royale, came into the picture.
but I thought the premium only maps, was gone now in BF1.

I understand all the effort is being made to gain more profit but there really must be other ways. Because this is ruining the game for non-premium players. There isn't really a lot of maps left to play with. Especially when you substract the 64 size maps because they are somwhat laggy on my friend's hardware.
Yes those maps are not premium only now. But still another way could be making better skins for everything in game. The legendary skins look too bad. They are mostly camouflage skins.
Something else to show off maybe? It's just not well designed in my opinion. That's why they can't sell in game items. I'm not a fan of Valorant but they know how sell skins. ReallyBattlefield 1 is from 2016.
that was how EA/DICE did things back then.
maybe it will be different, in the Battlefield 2021 game?
we can only wait and see.
