[BF1] Unable to join roommate on same server

Hello,

I'm posting this on behalf of two friends of mine:

Since the most recent patch for BF1 both of my friends are unable to join one another in a multiplayer match.

They are roommates and play from a router.

Whenever one of them (or I myself) starts a match, they both accept the invite and one of them will join the match,

while the other will get a black screen and then get booted back to the browser menu.

I am able to join either of them, but they can not join one another.

What's strange is that PRIOR to the patch from a few days back, there was no problem whatsoever; we've had a few good games already.

Since the patch, however, we've been trouble-shooting this problem.

I doubt adding a DXdiag file or whatever will aid much, as this is very much a networking issue, I reckon; the games run fine otherwise

(hence why I felt that I could post this problem on their behalf, they are unable to post anything at the moment and we'd like this fixed asap)

Any further questions can be answered upon request and we very much request further advice, as we find it...well, we find it ridiculous that this seems to have been "patched in" and we are now unable to play together.

Again, please advise.

Kind regards,

- X.

++UPDATE++ After more tinkering, discussing and what have you we've found a solution which we hope is a temporary band-aid, until this gets fixed properly.

I'm leaving this here, should anyone ever stump on this issue. If they find this thread, maybe it'll help them:

Seeing as they're behind a router which has no option to toggle the uPnP settings, one of the two tried setting up a static IP address.

This fixed the problem they were having. Depending on how many people playing from one router are trying to join, you'll have to set up the necessary amount of static IPs.

So if 4 people in the household want to play on the same server, at least 3 static IP's are needed (preferably with a range of more than 10, so:

192.168.x.105

192.168.x.115

192.168.x.136

etc.

Guess that's about it.

If the mods feel like removing this thread: do what you must, otherwise: may this one day help someone with a similar problem.

- X.

I play with my 2 roommates and there's no problem with the crashing or connection , try restarting the router if it doesn't work contact your internet provider and tell them the problem they should be able to help you.
