Well worded post OP. You are describing my problem perfectly, super smooth high frame rate play but with seemingly random millisecond long freezes. It makes it very hard to aim and enjoy the game.

My specs:

Intel Core i7 930 @ 4.1GHz
6GB Corsair XMS3 Dominator
SLI Galaxy GTX 780
Creative X-Fi Titanium
512GB Samsung 840 Pro
Silverstone Strider 1000W
Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Here's hoping for a fix unless, or perhaps I just need more RAM?
