My BF4 beta crashes on joining a server.
When I join a server, it goes into the loading screen, then stops and comes up with "bf4 beta has stopped working" This is really bad and I feel really sad as I have been waiting all day for this to come out and now I cant join.

Welcome to the Battlefield 4 Beta Madness!
The beta is now in it's first stages and a lot will happen. ONE thing that will sadly not happen is that everything will go smooth. It's a beta, it's designed to find weak points and bugs so the launch of the real game will go smooth. You cannot expect a beta go smooth and everything to work, even if you payed extra to be in the beta.
You can expect all kind of problems like, beta not appearing, downloading, installing or starting. Servers, Battlelog, Origin etc. might also go down or be unstable.
Now, what you can do is:
-Wait! No reason to post questions about things not working if 1000 others have already done so.
-Search for solutions (using the handy dandy searchfields) on Battlelog and AnswersHQ (trust me, 2000 people had this problem before you did đ )
-Look at Twitter, Facebook, Google+. Battlelog and AnswersHQ for status updates from Battlefield
-Wait for EA and Dice people to identify and fix the problems as they occour
-Look at similar BF3 problems - it's the same engine, many solutions will be the same.
-Chillax, all good things come to those who wait đ
-Realise that you are not directly contacting EA, if you wanted to contact EA, even after reading all this and also knowing that the wait-time is going to be huge, then use the search bar to see how, there's a gazilion posts where it's mentioned.

anyone try this from bf3?
Worked for me!
Tried;
Service Pack 1 (already had it)
Repairing game.
Uninstalling game, reinstalling game.
Updating Nvidia beta drivers
Rolled back to previous nvidia drivers
No such luck unfortunately. Still 'hangs' then ultimately crashes on loading screen.
Will just patiently wait for fix, its only a beta.
- Anonymous12 years ago
I did that, no go.
Had a guy help with the punk buster, it kinda helped but still no go,
So the best results is downloading the setings from oneone else that changed the settings to windowed mode, and yet still crashes, I think it's really poor programing by dice and EA.
I got all windos updates, Drivers and catalist updated.
so why it not work? simple someone did not do there job right.
friends that have big cards and big rigs still have issues.

Ok, I am going to keep this message as clear as possible.
First, my problem, like most of you, is this.
I go to Battlelog through the BF4 Beta on Origin and it opens up Battlelog. Great.
Next, I find the serer that I want to join and press "Join Server". (NOTE THIS IS IN MOZILLA FIREFOX).
The blue bar at the bottom pops up saying joining for about a minute, BF4.exe opens up in Windows Task Manager (Windows 7)
and then after that minute, the blue bar disappears, BF4.exe disappears in Windows Task Manager and that's that.
llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllNow to possible, I repeat, POSSIBLE solutions.
A) Before you make any assumptions, make sure your PC is 64-bit.
B) Make sure you have CORRECTLY UPDATED your graphics card. https://twitter.com/repi/status/384970844058841088
Go to the link in this tweet and choose the correct link to proceed.
C) Make sure BF4.exe is allowed through your firewall.
If you are not very good with computers, then simply look these options up and how to execute them correctly.
Hope this helps and guys, reply tp this message so I know if this worked for any of you. I have not yet tried these things but I will once I am able to in a couple of hours. Thank you and good luck.

Why can't those ******* make it as minimum as everyone can run this....aaach im so mad, frsutrated and everything bad i can be....i was so excited!
- Anonymous12 years ago
because they want to make it better, why would a company dumb down the specs for the few pussies that cant afford the hardware. Get a job **bleep**

@talonkek @hive
No, I will not relax. What do you think I bought Premium for? The frickin dog tags? NO. I bought Premium for "exclusive access to beta". A beta I can't play. I'm not running some goddamn Chinese netbook with linux, I'm running completely modern and namebrand hardware. There is NO viable reason I shouldn't be able to START the **bleep**ing game. This is **bleep** that should be taken care of in Alpha.
Everytime EA launches a game this **bleep** happens. And then EA just sticks their heads in the sand at all the pissed off players. Almost 24 hours and 50 pages of this exact same problem and nary a PEEP from them.
- Anonymous12 years agoERRORCould not communicate with BF4. Please use the Task Manager to close it down.Thats what i get when joining a server....

I've gotten a lot of different error messages. I get teased by a loading screen with music then... wait for it.... nothing but a frozen rig. My latest error message is a direct x message

Thanks guys, thanks for making me so excited to play the game. Thanks for making me so excited I preordered the more expensive version to play it early. And thanks for effectively making me waste my money. At this rate I will be getting a refund.

- Anonymous12 years ago
I fixed it, Nvidia has released a new kind of hidden beta driver on their website to download. Its not in anything other there download page, no optimus, no video check. đ
- 12 years ago
I tried this also, did not work.
Yes I finally got it to work after the 'can't find server' or just hangs when try to start. And the EA answer - restart the computer.
What I did was to Repair Install. It took over 4 hours due to the stupid d/loader Origin uses but it did the trick.
To Repair Install, right click on BF4 icon on your Origin My Games page and select it from the list.
Then cross your fingers and do something else for a while.
EA/ORIGIN/DICE WILL YOU PLEASE GET RID OF THIS ATROCIOUS GAMING PLATFORM AND COPY STEAM ONLINE GAMING PLATFORM
