BF4 PC Crashes to Black Screen - Solved - It was the PSU

Full reformat...

Didnt install the driver Windows update recommends for my Monitor, left it Generic PNP device

Tried Driver for monitor from monitors manufacturer

Tried driver windows recommended in Windows Update

Let the downloads (Bf4 Prem) all finish before trying to play

used Firefox instead

Stopped using Norton, using Avast/Malwarebytes/ccleaner

Ive tried 3 Catalyst Drivers

13.9  from my cd that came with the vid card

13.12 from AMD

14.3  from AMD

Still crashes----> screen just turning black and turning off, tower still running

The fight to get this game going is still on, whatever...

I changed the desktop theme and tried all of them except for the aero themes, and im able to game a little but it locked up once, then back to black screen crashes not matter what theme, once it was greyish color and not a black screen.

The fight goes on...

EDIT: Gonna change SSD drive over and make sure its not that, im sure its not.

Hi, I'm posting a bunch of things to try. Some you've already done but maybe not as Administrator (it can make a difference)

Also, does the game run ok in single player mode?

-Do a repair install of the game in Origin. In origin right click your game and from drop down choose repair install.

-make sure that you've updated your drivers to latest version or do a CLEAN INSTALL of drivers.
If its Nvidia then go to the Nvidia website and download the latest graphics driver. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
If AMD then go to its website and do the same. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
Choose a 'clean install' (usually in the advanced install options)
If the problem only began after updating your graphics driver then try reverting to a previous driver (again choosing 'clean install)
If using Mantle drivers on AMD and crashing in X64 version then -Go to C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings and delete the file "PROFSAVE_profile" (or you could just move it somewhere else on your PC for safekeeping).This will also reset keybindings and graphics settings so you will need to do them again when you launch the game.

Run everything as ADMINISTRATOR:

-Run the game as ADMINISTRATOR.
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and tick the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Do the same with BF4_x86.exe as well.

-Disable Origin in game.
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

-Run Origin as Administrator
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatability tab and tick the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.

Reinstall everything as ADMINISTRATOR:

-Reinstall DirectX.
1:go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist
2:Find file named DXSETUP.exe and right click on it and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRTOR. Install it. It should update your DirectX install.
3: You might need to reboot computer first.
4: try to launch game.

-Reinstall C++ redistributables.
1:go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist
2: Right Click on vcredist_x64.exe and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR then follow onscreen prompts.
Do the same with vcredist_x86.exe and follow onscreen prompts.

-In some cases your Microsoft C++ redistributables (or lack of certain ones) might be causing the problem.

2. Run the file.
3. In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game.
4. Restart PC
5. Try to play the game now.
The above file installs all the C++ redistributables in one package. Windows update can sometimes miss some of them which prevents the game from starting and causes it to crash while loading (the whitescreen and error message your getting)

-Update your Microsoft .NET framework.

Ive tried it all, only thing left is another full reformat but I dont think it will help.

Watched my temps while in game now that I can get in game for more than a sec.

Using program called Speedfan, was using Asus AI Suite II also

CPU-51c

MB   -32c

HD   -37c

GPU-76c

Are those in the norm temps, no overclocking (CPU or GPU)

1 fan on EVO 212 Push...2 case fans, rear and top pulling air out.

Getting 2 more fans, 1 for EVO 212 cooler (push/pull config) and another 120mm case fan for fresh air intake.

Could it be temps turning my monitor off, but not turning off my tower?

Are those temps high?

It doesnt seem like they are too high.

Hi this sounds like a familiar problem that I had with an AMD Gfx card, where the tower is running and you just have a blank screen , turned out it was a fault with the gfx card, have you tried connecting to the onboard gfx (if there is one) or try a diff card.

Gonna install Burnmark and run a stress test and MemTest for memory failures detection and see what happens.
