Going with AMD again after this (and similar problems with older cards in bf3)? Brave. I figure the same thing would just happen two years from now when the next game is out.
Seems like even with the memory leak fixed everyone has constant crashes- may want to hold off a bit until most of them are ironed out. Not holding my breath, but it's possible our issue gets fixed by that time.
bf4 has crashing issues on both amd and nvidia atm. There was a catalyst bug causing crashes/red screens, but that was fixed in 13.11 beta 8. I'm sure many of the crash issues are with bf4 itself.
I also never recall having this issue with BF3 with my 6950 in windows 8, and I had 150 or so hours of playtime (It has been a few months since I played bf3 though, mabye the bug was introduced recently?)

Yep, that's why I advised the holding off on purchasing a replacement card until the game itself is stable on a majority of systems- otherwise our problem might be fixed along with the rest. This particular issue is a repeating (bf3 to bf4) AMD-specific problem though.
Here's a thread RE: BF3 and the exact same leak. I "upgraded" to 8 for the extra DX11 features a few weeks ago so I didn't have those problems in BF3. But if you search "bf3 memory leak" on google you'll see a lot of similar things to this thread.

I totally remember that BF3 leak issue, it was back when I had a 5870. I wanted to upgrade anyway so I did to a 6970 and here I am now with the same problem for BF4.
Sadly history really is repeating itself as I had planned to upgrade anyway so I hit the button on a 290x yesterday :P

Well... glad to know i'm not the only one. My memory usage was getting up to 98% with 16 gigs and it was all background stuff, nothing I could close out of. Outrageous. I have since stopped trying to play. Sucks for me that I wasted my money on "Premium."
AMD phenom II to 3.5ghz
AMD 6950 ---- I agree that this may be the problem.
16 gb ram
non SSD
Win 8/8.1/7 (I've tried them all, same problem)
