BF4(PC) not grouping squad in same team, and doesnt allow team switch

Post updates, my mates and I have been having extreme difficulties in joining  the same team. This is in spite of "joining on friend in battlelog".

Any help would be seriously appreciated.... SO Fn fustrating!!

    Nothing has changed in this reguard with the patch. It's all up to the gameserver settings.
