[BF4]VOIP button not working in-game

Usually, I have VOIP assigned to L.ALT and when I press it, the speaker icon next to the tickets shows I'm broadcasting. Now, suddenly the speaker does not show I'm broadcasting,even though the button is pressed. I tried changing the button,same result. The mic itself works(I checked on other games) and is listed as the default output device, it's just that bf does not register me broadcasting. This happened extremely recently, I'm running a clean Win7 64 bit home premium.Any solutions?
