I see where you're coming from with this, but based on the facts and results that wouldn't be necessary to even try out, because based on the results it wouldn't be a specific sound device issue.
Reason being, because if it was the mixamp itself, then I would be experience this intermittent no sound issue with everything -- in the general OS itself and other games/applications; but that's not the case. As I stated before I have not experienced this issue ever with anything else until now with Battlefield Hardlines. So its nice to try and place blame on the mixamp, but the device is functioning.
If it was the mixamp causing issues, I wouldn't just be experiencing No sound in battlefield hardlines; while with it being open, I also should not be getting sound in Diablo 3 for example and in the general OS and media/music player all at the same time, but I get sound in all those other applications, even when hardlines has no sound.
Now if I was experiencing that same intermittent no sound issue scenario with all apps and hardlines, I would agree with you in needing to test another sound device, but this is definitely not the case.
I have 16 years in computer experience, building, troubleshooting issues both self-taught and professional, so there's a lot of things I've tested and checked out on my end that would be the culprit, but I can be assured its definitely something with this game, specifically and not a technical flaw with the audio device i'm using.
So just as a general log, loaded up hardlines for the first time today after pc boot-up. I logged into a server and sound is working and worked for the entire session, so as a test, decided to log out of just the server and reconnect to another server and got sound on that one too.
This is a prime example of how it works and sometimes doesnt work, like yesterdays non-stop no-sound dilemma no matter what I tried to do with relaunching origin, BFH, and re-installing origin.
I'll update again when it loses sound again when i try to switch servers and when that happens I'll try the delete settings folder step and see if sound comes back afterwards, if not i'll provide the results.
