Binoculars Gadget for Recon

Good day,

In every battlefield game there is a gadgets that helps to spot enemies in the distance without optical scope,

In Battlefield 4 the Recon class have only the PLD gadget, but it cannot be used efficiently in day light (effective distance ~500m).
My question is, why there is no option to switch it to day mode without IRNV, or why there is no binoculars gadget?
How can recon provide recon without being able to recon?!  Or how can i know the distance to the target without seen it?
Please help me, it really bums me up, and it can make the game much more better!

    the pld is the only binoculars like gadet if you want to know the range, you can equip the range finder on a sniper. you can unlock it when reaching 140 kills with the sniper you wanna put it on.

    hank you for your answer, but i know that,

    The range finder is the best solution for sniper, but if i play as recon, with a carbine?

    Or, how can i laser paint vehicles in day light? or even spot an enemy from more than 400 meters?

    You can also use the target detector, so when you aim you automatically spot him. 

    and without you just need to aim on him and click on spot.
