BUGREPORT: "B" key opens console

hi,

i'm experiencing the following issue:

when i press the "B" key in-game, the console pops up. the button to open the console can't be set in the key binding menu, so basically a button in the middle of the keyboard which is used by many people, especially left handed gamers, can't be used for in-game functions. 

would be nice if someone of the community managers could forward this issue to the department responsible for game fixes. this issue already existed in the beta and was reported numerous times on the forums. maybe DEVs aren't even aware this issue exists.

    i have the same problem, if you will get a solution say hello to me

    My B key is for launch grenade     and pop-up console    dammit!

    Got exactly the same problem.

    B can only open the console but not closing it.  

    So once it was being open, I need to press ~ to close it. It is very annoying.

    It seems to be a problem hard-coded into the game. I think it was present in the beta too.

    for me it's the "reload" button, tried to set it to a different key, but no chance to remember that during infight action. playing shooters since wolfenstein 3d and "b" has always been my reload key (i'm a lefty, moving with zghj)

    really doesn't make any sense to have "open console" hardcoded to a key exactly in the middle of the keyboard. why not open/close with tilde, or at least move it to F12 or something.

    however, i've also contacted @AskEASupport on twitter and they claim DEVs are aware and looking into it. let's hope it's true and that they come up with a reasonable solution.

    yes, it was present in the beta, that's why i had to stop playing it. didn't consider it possible that this issue makes it into the final version. 

    sadly this shows once again, betas are just for marketing purposes - to produce a hype these days. bugs "reported" during the beta aren't even noticed.

    (actually you couldn't even report anything, you could just write it into this forum where primarily the community members try to help each other out)

    I hope they fix this in the code while there in that same file.
