Can't activate key in Origin

Hi, I have my serial key but when I put the serial number on my origin account it says that the product code you entered is not valid. This is for my Battlefield 2142 game. Can you please help.....

Please contact an Advisor via live chat or phone for assistance with this issue:

1. Click on the following link: http://help.ea.com/
2. Make sure you are logged in (top right corner) and select 'Help with Game'
3. Find the affected game (if it's an account issue select Origin)
4. Select 'Next' at the bottom right
5. Select your platform and then 'Next' again
6. Select topic from the drop down and type in a short description of your issue.
7. Select a contact option. Please note that available contact options do depend on your country settings and time of day.

I wanted to use a serialcode in origin but when i click on add game with productcode the screen stays empty, is there a way to fix this?
Normally a window would pop up to enter the code but the window doesnt show up.

This is the pop up i get when i use it in chrome:Connection to the Origin Message Service has been discontinued (and i only had 1 tab open)
