Can't change video settings in BF1

Every time I try to change the graphics settings, as soon as I tell it to change to those settings, it just reverts everything back to the default (which is way off from what I want, especially since the fov is super low!) I have no idea how to fix this and I can't find anything on the internet that actually solves this, including deleting the PROFSAVE_profile file. For the record, this is the same issue I have in BF4 now, so I think it is an Origin-wide issue, not just restricted to BF1. Thanks!

    Sounds to me like your Windows user / the games might not be allowed to write to PROFSAVE_profile file in the BF1 file in documents. Try making sure the bf1.exe and Origin.exe start as administrator.

    I did that, but still nothing worked. I can go inside of the actual PROFSAVE_profile file and manually set stuff, but I can only really set the FOV and whether or not it goes to full screen.

    At the top of the basic video settings page check your full screen mode, make sure it reads  " windowed " change your settings to what you want and then return the full screen mode to whatever you prefer.
